Web Penetration Testing with Kali Linux

linux book journal

A few months ago I was contacted by Packt Publishing asking if I’d be willing to provide a technical review on one of their upcoming books. The title of the book was Web Penetration Testing with Kali Linux. Of course I was willing to do it. Like that I was provided some chapters with command examples. I ran through the content & commands. I tested them, providing a review about the right-functionning of the commands or if improvement was needed.

Two weeks ago the book was published. It’s available for purchase from Packt Publishing and various other online retailers like Amazon & O’Reilly.

I enjoyed reviewing the book. The authors Joseph Muniz and Aamir Lakhani have done an awesome job explaining with great detail & examples on how should a penetration tester work. They laid emphasis on tools that should be available in a pentester’s arsenal. By the end of the book there is a sample report that gives an idea to pentesters on how they should report their findings to their client/employer.
