MS True Type fonts in openSUSE

It’s an early Sunday morning and I start the day chatting with online geeks. A friend then pings about MS fonts on openSUSE. I guess he needed those for his assignment stuffs.

While I’m not a fan of those fonts neither I use them often, they do come handy when you’re working on college/university assignments.

Getting the popular ones (Arial, Georgia, Impact, Verdana etc) was straight-forward. You just need the ‘fetchmsttfonts’ from the repos.

To get fonts like Calibri & Cambria you need to install ‘webcore-fonts-vista’ package which is available from software.opensuse.org. The 1-click YaST app makes it easier to install. Otherwise you can also download the rpm package and install using the traditional methods.
