I landed in Tunisia today.
Thanks to a fellowship programme by AFRINIC I am attending the AFRINIC-29 meeting that kick-starts tomorrow at Hammamet, Tunisia.
AFRINIC meetings1 are held twice a year rotating in countries across the continent. It allows the different stakeholders to meet and discuss about Internet governance & policies and well as technical matters that contribute to the advancement of the Internet in the African continent.
The AFRINIC fellowship programme aims to create opportunities for individuals having an interest in Internet operations and governance. The fellowship is awarded to individuals from African countries. In the coming days I will be writing more about the fellowship programme and the activies for fellows.
The next AFRINIC meeting after AFRINIC-29, will be help in Kampala, Uganda, during the Africa Internet Summit2 and there will be a call for fellowship3 by AFRINIC. Join the AFRINIC mailing lists4, get familiar with AFRINIC operations and apply for the fellowship.
I also thank La Sentinelle for the support and encouragement to participate in AFRINIC meetings.
