Ish Sookun appeared before the Bail and Remand Court where he was provisionally charged with two counts under the Prevention Of Terrorism Act (POTA). He spoke briefly with friends and family who were gathered at the court in his support through this ordeal. Ish mentions he is being treated fairly in police custody. In his court statement, Ish denied the charges brought against him, stating he is a member of the ICT Advisory Council, an IT professional dedicated to the advancement of ICT in Mauritius and not a terrorist. Police have objected to his bail. The next bail hearing is scheduled for tomorrow January 25th 2016 at 13:30.
