Geek? Nerdy, Hot or Horny...

May 29, 2014

I was going through some unread messages & I noticed the words hot geek. I took it as a compliment but with a “question mark” in my head. Hot? Do I look like a bikini babe? Nope! I would prefer be called a horny geek than being hot. When I look at a system, I tend to think of the internals. Sorry, but it comes naturally. I make a blueprint of how it’s designed, organized in the inside. That’s what I call a horny geek ^^,

A few days ago, another beautiful & creative friend pinged me: cute penguin. Aaaargh! Cute is not the word to be used. Cute is what I say when I see a puppy ^^,

Now, even the word geek has caused speculation in previous discussions. An ex-colleague & I always fought over this term. He would argue that geek is to be used only for someone who has achieved something, like being successful. His example was Steve Jobs. While I would argue Jobs was a visionary, Wozniak was a geek. The geek is the one who has an extreme passion. That could be computing, arts, writing, photography or even philosophy. Having bountiful of knowledge in topics you adore, practicing & preaching the same makes you a geek. I have friends who swear by the names of computer games, they are the gaming geeks. I know folks who can capture your un-expressed emotions with one shot in their camera, they are the amazing photography geeks. You don’t have to invent a big thing to be a geek. Just know your passion, nurture it with every breath you take and that’s it, geek you are.
